CD Review:
This is one band I could never get into. I've had 30 years to do it, but keep miserably failing. Maybe it's the style of music; no that can't be since I enjoy The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin. Steve Tyler's voice just irritates the hell out of me, one of the few songs I like "Dream On" (not on this album) is a song that Steve's voice doesn't sound like the usual hand covering your ears in pain style of vocals.

This album I picked up twice to give them another chance and damn if it doesn't irritate me more now then it did then. I would rather listen to The Black Crowes then Aerosmith, a band with less fame and notoriety but with a similar sound and a lead singer that doesn't put you into a state where the consumption of five aspirin is a necessary after-action.

I think the best way to describe Aerosmith is that you hear them and you really enjoy them or you run away quickly before you head explodes in a similar fashion to the aliens in the movie Mars Attacks.

A band that has been around since the 70s has great stamina and a dedicated fan base. So I will give them kudos for that and don't necessarily turn away from them on my account. But, if Aerosmith never procured a record and Steve Tyler had decided to put his talent and energy to that highly respected and age old tradition of mime, I wouldn't have been the least bit disappointed. Go become confined to an invisible box Steve, and leave my ears alone

CD Review:
Pump is the follow up of Permanent Vacation. If you liked that album, you will like this one. It has some party songs like "Love in an Elevator" and some more serious stuff like "Janie's Got A Gun."

I never purchased this album and I never intend to, as I will hear songs from it on the radio occasionally which is enough for me. I just can't get around Tyler's voice to ever enjoy this band. I wish they would finally retire and have their music put in a time capsule to not be recovered until after my death.
