CD Review:
Just four tracks and just over 40 minutes of great Electronica, Future Days was this reviewer's introduction to Can. Damo Suzuki is the front man on this album, if you can call it that, as his voice is not all that important to the tracks. Like a lot of great electronic music, the voice seems to be an unwanted interloper and as this album continues Suzuki's voice fades more into the background until it is lost outright. The sound of the music reminds me of moving water and bubbles and soft African drum music then moves more into futuristic keyboards of wind and other unique sounds.
This is up there with Kraftwerk's Trans-Europe Express and Air's Moon Safari as greats of the genre, even though you hear more guitar work and drums on Future Days. Can was one of the greatest avant-garde and progressive bands in the history of rock and Future Days is one of the reasons why.

CD Review:
The first time I saw the BNL was on Much Music (MTV for Canada) and I was hooked. This album combines some music from their indie days and some new stuff for the album. Their music is upbeat and their lyrics can be quite light-hearted and humourous. Since the band was Canadian and the music not that serious, I thought they would end up fizzing out quite quickly but then I see them on American television and in the movies and realized that I was wrong. It proves that we do have taste sometimes in North America for non traditional rock that doesn't necessarily include an electric guitar. This album will put a smile on your face as you listen to it and we do sometimes need that in this mixed up world of ours.
