CD Review:
The Feathers are always a hard listen the first few times their CDs spin. Their music is eclectic almost to its own detriment. That is, until the 10th listen, then everything changes. You pick up on the lyrics (their humour and cleverness), you find the schizophrenic changes in sound and tempo from one track to the next enjoyable, and most importantly you find Richard Yanofsky voice ends up seeming to be inspired by some ghost of David Bowie in his prime.

CD Review:
Ottawa based artist Joshua Morin has a burning passion for music. So much so that he embarked on a journey that many other local artists have done, some successfully, others not as much so. The trip he undertook was to independently release a CD of his music. In 2004 all his hard work paid off as While You Were Out. was released in Ottawa for all to enjoy. In 2006, his follow up Drunk, Stoned or In Love hit the shelves.
It took awhile for this reviewer to come up with anything to say about the album. After over a dozen listens, the album didn't spark any ideas. Then the reasons for this struck. Everything about the album is fine. The music, vocals, lyrics, and pace were all fine. But fine doesn't inspire any prodigious accolades. This album would easily get lost in the used bins of fine music along side Bryan Adams or Corey Hart. Perhaps Joshua needs a few more kicks at the can before his brilliance awakens. Until then I will leave this on the shelf.
