CD Review:
Muffler Crunch is a heavy rock duo coming out of Hull, Quebec. Angie "The Barbarian" Neatby (drums/vocals) and Luc Lavigne (Ol' Sparky, the guitar) are making noise around the city of Ottawa after signing with local record label Last Drag Records and releasing their first CD Ol' Sparky's Revenge. Angie has vocals reminiscent of Carol Pope but with more grit (many who have listened to the CD mistake her vocals as male) and with only drums and an electrified acoustic guitar, the band relies on angry lyrics and distortion to give you some impressive heavy rock.
Highlights include "Marchin' back to Sugar Mountain," a fiery song that shows off Angie's nasty side to much aplomb ("I'm marchin' back to sugar mountain/I've seen enough dogs fucking women/and people making out while they puke...") and "Snowing Inside," a song that gives you a reminder of how epic metal can be.

CD Review:
With the songs "Something to Believe In" and "Flesh & Blood," Poison established themselves as more than just just a party band. They didn't shirk off their old style totally as the hit "Unskinny Bop" would indicate, but they did garner some more intellectual consideration and critical appeal with Flesh & Blood.
I didn't enjoy this release as much as Open Up and Say Ahh and this was the last album I purchased from the band. But now as I have grown older, I appreciate this album more (when I do listen to it anyway).
This band also bit the dust when grunge hit it big at the commencement of the '90s, but when they were in their glory, they gave the women some heavily soaked panties.
