CD Review:
With a funk-infused rock reminiscent of '90s Blind Melon and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Donkeypunch are an Ottawa based foursome that have been playing together since 2003. Yellow and Black, the first release from the band, is a five song EP that will put a groove in your step as you walk the streets of the nation's capital listening to your walkman.
The band consists of Brad (lead vocals, guitar), Ted (guitar, vocals), Scab (bass) and Jimmay (drums). Branding themselves with the colours of a bumble bee shows a penchant for marketing that flows through the album's artwork and even appears on a song on the CD ("Brand Name Boy"). Whether one of the band members took marketing in school or they just thought it would be cool to have a theme for the album (perhaps taking inspiration from Blind Melon's "No Rain" video), it adds an extra dimension to the professionalism of the band.

CD Review:
I never really got into this album although the songs on it were made specifically for the movie rather than it being a compilation grabbed from various artist's albums. I really enjoyed the movie and I picked up the album because of it.
The album has a few highlights like "Somebody's Baby" by Jackson Browne. I still enjoy that song when I hear it. But overall, this album is all over the place and doesn't have any coherence. It is one of the forgettable soundtracks of the '80s and not recommended except for the diehard fan of soundtrack collecting.
