CD Review:
Formed back in 2004 by mates Blair Hogan (guitar) and Trevor Strange (vocals), The Architects are a 5-piece (rounding out the line-up is Tyson Hiseler on bass, Jamie Kronick on drums Jon Chandler on guitar) from Ottawa that play melodic indie rock with an attention to detail.
Strange has a powerful voice which leads the band and his master of storytelling comes out in most of the tracks on This Is about You. It is difficult to peg the band sonically as their influences are not apparent. This bodes well as their unique approach makes them memorable. This Is about You must be heard to understand but suffice to say that if you enjoy up-tempo rock, you will enjoy this CD.

CD Review:
If you wish to hear a retrospective of Duran Duran without having to buy all their albums, then this is the place to go. It covers most of their popular singles from 1981-89. In the early '80s this band was the apex, commercial-wise, of new wave music. The music is in chronological order so you can hear them traveling from bad to worse and thank God you didn't waste good money on purchasing any of the studio releases.
Many '80s artists used the creation of MTV to promote their music, but if you want to see a group that exploited their good looks over the substance of their music, then Duran Duran would be the place to go. They spearheaded style-over-substance that has been the mainstay of pop music ever sense.
