CD Review:
A mostly forgettable release, with the typical motherfucker, dick, and other swearing references. Throw in some misogyny, like on the songs "Cruddy Click" and "Sleepwalker II" and you wonder what Queen Latifa saw in them.
An honouable mention to a few tracks, like "Ready For Dem" which adds some reggae elements which makes the song enjoyable, and "Daddy Was A Street Corner" which points out the problem of kids being raised on the street instead of by parents, and "The Hood Comes First" which gives hint of what Treach and Vinnie could have done with the album (pride in where they come from, in their neighbourhood) if they gave half a mind to it.
"Hot Potato" is a pretty good "throw-down" where their mastery of inflection and the smooth movement of difficult lines show some talent.
The album ends with "Shout Outs" to all the people they know who are either dead or in prison. Was that to make them seem at the center of the rap world, a "in" street reputation, and therefore more worthy of purchase? Probably, as it does increase record sales when you are thought of as a hood. But overall there is a lot better stuff out there then this.
