CD Review:
If you can imagine all the raw energy of the Stooges filtered through a dirty stripped-down White Stripes aesthetic then you will get an idea of what The Bloody Hollies' If Footmen Tire You... puts forth. In fact this music is so raw and dirty I had to take a shower after listening to it. Hailing from Buffalo NY, the Hollies are Wesley Doyle (singer/guitarist), Mike Argento (drums) and Phillip Freedenberg (bass). Working with producer Jim Diamond (The White Stripes, The Dirt Bombs), the album is a quick 11 track 30 minute foray into garage/punk that will blast your ears with heavy power chords, angry bass lines and screaming vocals. When these guys receive airplay like the White Stripes they will have earned the respect they already deserve.

CD Review:
A protege of Stevie Ray Vaughn, this Canadian is the best known and regarded as one of Canada's leading blues players. After touring with Vaughn, Virgin Records signed him to a contract and this album was the result.
Straight ahead blues rock, Colin James was a smash both in his native Canada as well as the U.S. Featuring songs like "VooDoo Thing," "Five Long Years" and "Why'd You Lie," Colin's first album became a staple on radio and music stations across the country.
A natural blues player who picked up the guitar at the age of 10, Colin can keep pace with any blues guitarist as his proceeding albums that moved him from the Delta blues to old time rock & roll would show.
Although he has toured the States and Europe for the last half decade, he is most recognized and loved here in Canada and spends most of his free time in the Great White North. If you wish to hear some great blues by a Canadian, then this album is a must.
