CD Review:
This is Henley's most popular album. After a somewhat successful debut in I Can't Stand Still, with a blowout single like "Dirty Laundry," Henley was ready for a radio-friendly rock album. The radio stations were glad to oblige making "The Boys of Summer," "All She Wants to Do Is Dance," "Not Enough Love in the World" and "Sunset Grill" staples on FM radio.
What makes this album an exception to many of the albums promoted on radio is Henley's writing ability. The songs are structured simply but the lyrics are craftwork. "The Boys of Summer" is a great song if you have ever lived in a tourist town. "Not Enough Love in the World" stays away from many of the clichés that bury a song of this type. Still the album is nothing exceptional.
You could say that Henley wanted a successful album that could compete with his days in the Eagles and with Building the Perfect Beast, he succeeded.

CD Review:
Warrant was another band like Skid Row or Slaughter that made it on pop metal in the late '80s until grunge came along and killed their audience. This album is much better than their first, and is probably their best release over all. Amid the typical sexual innuendo and power ballads, Warrant released some memorable lyrical songs. A Song like "Uncle Tom's Cabin," which is about a couple of kids witnessing a murder, is a good example. But the band sings too many surface songs on love and sex to be taken too seriously. If you decide to try them out, this album is the best they have to offer, which isn't saying a lot.
