CD Review:
After the success of When I Look In Your Eyes (winning Krall a Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Performance), Krall followed up with this album to equal accolades. Winning her three Juno awards (Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Best Vocal Jazz Album of the Year) and going quintuple platinum, The Look of Love established Krall as the best vocal jazz artist in Canada (although Molly Johnson has a better delivery). Covering standards like "I Remember You," "The Night We Called It a Day," and "I Get along without You Very Well," The Look of Love may not be entirely new or innovative, but it is perfect for what vocal jazz is for: creating an atmosphere of romance and intimacy.

CD Review:
This was Joel's tribute to two things. The first was to the pop music of his childhood, covering styles like do-wop and soul. The second tribute was to Christie Brinkley, his new girlfriend at the time. They later married and you can see his infatuation with the super model all through the album.
Coming off the hard work he put into The Nylon Curtain, his tribute to the Baby Boomer Generation, Joel decide to relax and work on this release as a light hearted romp through the music of his childhood. It became one of his most popular albums out selling The Nylon Curtain by a wide margin. Hits like "Uptown Girl," "An Innocent Man" and "Tell Her About It" garner attention on this album.
