CD Review:
Doves are one of the latest versions of Brit-pop similar to Oasis and The Stone Roses; but more akin to the aesthetic of The Verve. The band took the UK by storm with their debut album back in 2000 (Lost Souls) but this album shows them off at the best. Less doom and gloom, more wide ranging and stripped down, The Last Broadcast is more unique and fulfilling than a typical Brit-pop release.

CD Review:
Bluestone is one of Ottawa's up and coming Blues/Rock bands. They released an EP, In the Beginning, back in 2003 which we have reviewed in a previous edition of Exposure mag (See Review) and have been playing around the capital for a few years now. Their self-titled debut full length reworks many of the songs of the EP (including "That Is Me" and "You're Money") and adds many new songs.
Highlights on this CD include "Spider," a song written and by Adam Bell who plays trumpet for the band. It's a raunchy and sexual song involving the love from a woman with a carnal lust of an arachnid. Angie Russell (vocals, guitar) lets her voice go on this album where, "7 Days" is a great example. This sultry song shows off her range and she has the confidence her voice allows her. Overall, this album expands the range of the band giving us some all out rocking tunes and some slower sexy ballads. Adam adds his talent in the writing department.
