27 Dresses (2007) --> The star power of Katherine Heigl is overwhelming since her move to the big screen from the TV show Grey's Anatomy. But for this film it is the only attraction. Unlike the Apatow film Knocked Up, 27 Dresses fails to tell an interesting enough story to make Heigl's appearance worthy of her magnetism. If, like this reviewer, you can help yourself being attracted to anything Heigl does, 27 Dresses will be something you can't help but watch. Just don't get your hopes up that the story will match her many gifts. It isn't too surprising as any film, no matter how hard it tries to convince us, will always fail when Heigl plays a girl who is perennially a bride's maid and never a bride.

Alvin and the Chipmunks (2007) --> Other than a parent wanting to bring his/her offspring to a film that isn't filled with violence, this Tim Hill movie holds little attraction for the post pubescent. Unlike other children's films that take adults into account (think Finding Nemo or Shrek), Alvin and the Chipmunks fails to entertain the people who are actually paying for the ticket prices.

Bee Movie (2007) --> Jerry Seinfeld's foray into the animated genre with lukewarm results, Bee Movie's CGI was impressive, but the story had a way of losing its audience. Other than Seinfeld's humour, the film doesn't have the attraction like the clever storytelling of such recent classics as Monster's Inc. or Toy Story. If you like Seinfeld's style of comedy this film might be enjoyable otherwise taking the youngsters should be the only reason to head to the theatre for this film.
