Clerks II (2006) --> Kevin Smith hits a second homerun with the sequel to his first film Clerks. Dante and Randal are in their thirties and working at a burger joint since the convenience store/video shop burned down. Jay and Silent Bob picked up and moved their drug dealing to outside the burger joint. But they have quit smoking the product due to a bust by the police that put them in rehab.
The humour that you are familiar with in movies written by Kevin Smith is here on full display. From trashing the Lord of the Rings trilogy to informing us of the existence of trolls that live inside the mouths and vaginas of teenage girls, Smith doesn't leave out anything his twisted mind can think of. You now have another Kevin Smith film worthy to add to your collection.

Silent Hill (2006) --> I watched over half this movie waiting for something frightening or even just interesting to happen. You have a mother searching for her daughter in an evacuated town. Yawn. Silent Hill is another film based on a video game that fails to make the transition worth the price of admission. Doom, Mortal Combat, DOA:Dead or Alive are a few other examples that didn't work either. Perhaps Hollywood should read the writing on the wall and leave video games on the computer or game console. Of course there is always Laura Croft around to shut me up.
