Chaos (2006)
Chaos (2006) --> Chaos Theory - in mathematics, physics, and other fields, a set of ideas that attempts to reveal structure in aperiodic, unpredictable dynamic systems such as cloud formation or the fluctuation of biological population. - Reference.com.

In this movie it meant that a series of random events actually link together in a chain that brings a disgruntled cop and a bank robbery together. Using the theory as a basis for his investigation when leads go cold, Det. Shane Dekker (Ryan Phillipee) figures out his partner, Quentin Conners (John Statham), is behind a computer viral scheme to rob a bank of one billion dollars.

The film had enough twists to make it interesting but anyone with an IQ of 50 could figure out what was happening when Statham dies in the first half of the movie. You don't kill off your star unless you are bringing him back in some sort of dramatic fashion later on in the film.

The Fog (2005)
The Fog (2005) --> A lackluster horror film remade from the 1980 John Carpenter classic of the same name tells the story of a group of ghosts coming back a century after their deaths to take revenge on the small seaside town that killed them. The film was not frightening in the least. It was more a murder mystery rather than horror/thriller which will disappoint anyone expecting to see an homage to Carpenter. But the film is not as bad as most critics say, especially if you haven't seen the original.

The God Who Wasn't There (2005)
The God Who Wasn't There (2005) --> Film maker Brian Flemming has an axe to grind. Using historical evidence as a smoke screen to attack the Christian church, Flemming gets to have an audience participate in his back lashing at an institution that he felt treated him badly (mostly through his schooling at a Christian education facility).

Even if the arguments he gives for a justified doubt in the existence of Jesus as a messianic figure, you realize by the end of the film that Flemming was using the camera as a personal whip to injure those in the religion that hurt him as a child. At times fascinating (especially the historical evidence on Jesus), The God Who Wasn't There fails as a great documentary for its lackluster attempt at objectivity and its obvious agenda to avenge the film maker's childhood traumas.

Phone Booth (2002)
Phone Booth (2002) --> Whether you will enjoy this film will mostly rest on your like or dislike of both Colin Ferrell's acting and Keifer Sutherland's voice as that is what you will be witness to for most of the film's 81 minutes. Like Cujo and Treed Murray, Phone Booth centers the action in just one place which makes the actors the most important part of the film rather than the car chases or explosions that other films of this type have. Some do not like Ferrell as an actor (for his good looks) but I enjoyed his treatment of Larry Cohen's screenplay. With such lack of movement it is surprising the film grabs hold of you so quickly. Before you realize the time, the film has ended and lights come on.
