The I Inside (2003)
The I Inside (2003) --> Ryan Phillippe stars as Simon Cable in a movie of mystery and intrigue. Cable wakes in a hospital lacking any memory from the past two years of his life. Becoming a detective in his own life he tries to figure out what happened over the last 24 months. His mind throws him back and forth through time having him spend the whole movie jumping from the present to two years previous when he also spent time in the same hospital. I will not spoil the movie suffice it to say that if you liked Memento and Donnie Darko you will enjoy this movie.

Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002)
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002) --> George Clooney directorial debut stars Sam Rockwell as Chuck Barris in a biopic that is mind-blowing if true. Barris, famous for some of the most-watched game shows of the '70s (The Dating Game, The Newlywed Game, and The Gong Show), wrote his biography describing his rise to the top of the television world all-the-while being recruited by and becoming an assassin for the CIA. Although a bit farfetched Clooney thought it would make a good film and he was right. Along with the intriguing storyline you have appearances by Clooney, Julia Roberts, Rutger Hauer, Drew Barrymore and a cameo by Brad Pitt as a bachelor on an episode of The Dating Game. Clooney also interviews some of Barris' friends and co-workers and disperses that documentary footage throughout the film.

Dirty Pretty Things (2002)
Dirty Pretty Things (2002) --> A story about the London underground of illegal immigrants and the lengths they will go for a passport or citizenship papers, Dirty Pretty Things is an interesting and mildly disturbing film. Starring Chiwetel Ejiofor as Okwe, a Nigerian doctor accused of killing his wife, who escaped to London and is now working as the desk clerk of a city hotel. When he uncovers an organ harvesting ring, he is given the opportunity to start a new life as a different person if he helps as a surgeon. When his best friend Senay (played by Audrey Tautou) decides to trade her kidney for a passport, Okwe throws caution aside and agrees to perform the operation. Tricking the ringleader Juan (Sergi Lopez) the two friends escape to new lives, one in New York the other back in Africa.

Rollerball (1975)
Rollerball (1975) --> Norman Jewison is one of Canada's greatest directors and Rollerball shows one reason why he is considered as such. A brilliant social commentary on the power of corporations disguised as an action movie about roller derby, Rollerball stars James Caan as Jonathan E., a Rollerball star athlete, who decides to take on the corporation that runs the sport after finding out he is to be retired from the game. Because Rollerball was invented to show the masses how futile it is to try to excel above the system, and Jonathan E. does so in spades, he is slated for retirement before the people get it into their head that they can change the way the system works. In a future where compliance is necessary for the corporate state to function Jonathan E.'s defiance is a serious threat.
