The Man with the Screaming Brain (2005) --> Most famous for his collaborations (and friendship) with great American director Sam Raimi, especially acting as Ashley 'Ash' J. Williams in the Evil Dead trilogy, Bruce Campbell uses some of that magic to create a movie that is can be best described as All of Me meets Young Frankenstein. Campbell directs, writes (with David M. Goodman) and stars in this humorous story about an American businessman who is murdered and then brought back to life with the brains of a cab driver to keep him company. If you are a fan of Campbell, you will enjoy this film. If not, you will probably blow it off as pretentious an overbearing. Of course if you did, you would be correct, as that is Campbell's charm.

Sky High (2005) --> From the director of Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (1999) and Surviving Christmas (2004) comes Disney's live action foray into the superhero movie. To put it bluntly, Disney is about 10 years behind the times in some of the costumes they decided to use for this film. Best shown in the costume of Royal Pain, she looks like she would be more comfortable in a Power Rangers episode than a 2005 superhero flick, Sky High fails as does most of the films of this genre. The movie itself tells the story of Will Stronghold, the son of two superheroes, as he enters high school. As his parents are the greatest heroes on the planet, much is expected from him. But he doesn't have any super powers. When he finally develops them, he is moved from second class status (as a side kick) to the hero training classes. When his new girlfriend turns out to be an evil adversary of his family, he must save the school and the world from her domination. With the help of his lowly side kick friends he succeeds. This is a feel good movie that glosses over issues such as school status and parent expectations of children. But it is a Disney movie so what would you expect.
