Diary of a Mad Black Woman (2005) --> A movie that you wish would make up its mind. Is it a rip off of the dreadful comedy Big Momma's House (2000)? Or is it a drama about the fallout from a bad divorce? Or is it a thriller on the topic of revenge? Diary of a Mad Black Woman has elements of all three with elements of a Christian morality tale thrown in for good measure. Darren Grant (the director) must suffer from schizophrenia because this movie can't decide what it is. Diary of a Mad Black Woman leaves you confused, disappointed and even a tiny bit angry.

Hitch (2005) --> Andy Tennant (director) rebounds from the disappointing film Sweet Home Alabama (2002), to approach the charm he captured with Ever After (1998). Hitch is a movie about the average guy wanting what his mind tells him he can't have, but his heart refuses to stop him from trying to achieve it. Will Smith stars as Hitch, a dating consultant, who coaches men on how to achieve the woman of their dreams. When his advice is thrown back at him by Albert (Kevin James from the sitcom The King of Queens), a client who refuses to give up on the woman he loves, Hitch learns that not only do his proteges deserve happiness, but he does too. Hitch is a charming romantic comedy that men will enjoy watching with a date or their significant other.
