Wedding Crashers (2005) --> From the director of Shanghai Knights comes a comedy about the newest way for a man to get laid; crash a wedding! Starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, it tells of two friends who bed romantically inclined women attending wedding parties. All goes well until Wilson's character (John Beckwith) falls for a mark. Wedding Crashers is a typical Hollywood romantic comedy with Wilson playing his usual stock character (the sensitive guy). Vaughn is put through some hilarious situations which show off his comic abilties, and for that, the movie is worth seeing.

It's All Gone Pete Tong (2005) --> From the director of the cult Canadian hit Fubar (2002) (Michael Dowse) comes a new film about a deaf DJ. Based on a true story, It's All Gone Pete Tong, tells the story of Euro DJ God Frankie Wilde. Starting at the height of Wilde's career where he packed dance houses and became a multi-millionaire, this Alliance Atlantis release shows his downfall and then short rebirth (before leaving the scene on his own accord). Wilde loses his hearing and after battling drug addiction and a fight for his very sanity, he returns to club life using his other senses to create music he can't hear. It is a charming and visually spectacular movie with a wry sense of humour.

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith (2005) --> This is the best of the 3 prequels by far although it took awhile for the action to commence. The fights between Anakin vs. Count Dooku, Yoda vs. the Emperor, and especially Obi-Wan and Anakin are the best special effects scenes so far to grace the big screen in the history of film.

Hostage (2005) --> Bruce Willis plays Jeff Talley, an ex-hostage negotiator turned small town chief of police. When 3 hoodlums commit a home invasion Willis must race against time to save the captured family.
This would be the atypical "fallen hero redeems himself after a major tragedy (his last hostage negotiation went south with the loss of all victims)" but director Florent Emilio Siri adds a twist that makes this movie better than the usual fare passing as Hollywood blockbuster these days.
