Welcome
everyone to the first issue of Exposure magazine,
our monthly webzine that gives you, our visitors,
a great source for entertainment and other interesting
information. This month our featured articles focus
on an Ottawa/Kingston rock band named Keep Yourself
Good Company. Have fun reading about the history of
the band, with pictures, an interview with yours truly
and a review of their recent concert at Barrymore’s.
This month's articles focus on why rent should be
outlawed, why God really does exist, how the passion
of an anonymous man created a legend in his own backyard,
how Nike Dunks are making us wonder about people's
sanity, and how a Justice Konrad von Finckenstein
ruling made us give some needed advice to the music
industry.
Finally, in our review section, We tell you why The
Wall, Master of Puppets, Blade Runner,
Exotica, Fast Food Nation and Man’s
Search for Meaning should be should be heard,
seen and read; as well as why Scandal, Hysteria,
Over the Top, Crocodile, Vector
and Life after God should not.
As with every great magazine we are open to criticism.
We would like to get off to the right start by sharing
your views. If you want to tell us off or congratulate
us on a job well done then our mailbox is the place
to do it. Send your thoughts or artwork to letters@fullspectrumottawa.com.
We will publish the best ones in our next issue.
I hope you enjoy the ‘zine and I hope to hear
from you soon. |

Hidden
amongst twisted pathways scavenged by rodents and
dog walkers in a neighborhood west of the city,
lies the Boot Knokah. It’s been referred to
as a gem in the reputed west possibly exhaling the
last breaths of positivity into a Hollywood like
suburban sprawl. In its simplest form the Boot Knokah
is one of the best constructed DIY jumps the city
has ever seen. But the booter is more then just
a snowboard jump it is a testament to what one man
and a few hungry snowboarders with enough dedication
can achieve, a place where you can experience real
snowboarding in its purest form. No handouts simply
a way of life built by snowboarders for snowboarders. |

What
do I think about God? If we believe that what we
hear, see, touch, etc. is real; that what we perceive
is reality and not just a dream; that all things
have an independent existence other than our perceiving
of them; that when a tree falls in a forest and
there is no one there to hear it, it does make a
sound; that we are not in some Matrix inspired video
reality program wrapped around our senses, then
it leads us to a certain consequence. |

You
have to love us Canadians. Lately, we seem to stick
it to Americans every chance we get. Whether it
was the refusal to join in with our friends to the
south in the aggression on Iraq...... |

The
Nike phenomenon is an interesting one, what began
as an exclusive college basketball shoe in 1986,
was resurrected from the dead 16 years later becoming
one of the most popular and most sought after (by
collectors) skateboard shoe. The latest buzz surrounds
the company’s Nike Dunks line of shoes. When
it comes to Nike Dunks, I feel like a blind dude
at a wet t-shirt contest in Daytona Beach. I just
don’t get what all the fuss is about. People
love them so much. In fact, someone was so enamored
he paid $30,000 (U.S.) for a pair in an online E
Bay auction. Is he an idiot? I think so! |
